You will build the backend for our subsurface data: ingestion, storage, APIs, model serving and the tools our geologists use in the field. Users range from ML researchers to geologists logging core without a network connection.
What your first year looks like
- Build ingestion, storage, versioning and APIs for rasters, point data, drillholes and 3D models.
- Build services that run models and simulators on demand.
- Build offline-first data capture for field mapping, sampling and core logging.
- Build fast spatial queries over PostGIS and object storage.
- Set up access control and audit trails for licensed data.
You have:
- 4+ years building production backend systems.
- Python, Go, Rust or TypeScript, and API design.
- PostgreSQL, ideally PostGIS, and cloud object storage.
- Containers, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD.
Nice to have:
- GDAL, STAC, Zarr or tile servers.
- Offline sync for mobile or field apps.
- Early-stage startup experience.
